Payment Link

Clover Market

Payment Link is primarily used for two purposes.  A merchant would use the link for a set dollar amount to send to a consumer to request a payment.  A merchant could also use these links to embed them on their website or social media to collect a specific amount (Example: Donation).

Scenario 1: Let’s say you are a doctor’s office and you need to send an invoice to a customer.  You should generate the invoice in your own software, create a payment link for the amount of the invoice in Payment Link software, copy that link and include it in your email to the consumer.

Scenario 2: Let’s say you are a non-profit and would like to take donations on your website or social media platform.  You would create a link (or a few) in the Payment Link software and hyperlink or embed these links in buttons that you create.  Let’s say you’re trying to collect donations with three denominations; $5, $10, $20.  You would create three links for these set amounts, create the buttons on your website, and then hyperlink the Payment Link links to these buttons.

Help:

The Zoomifi Payment Link app is designed to allow you to use a website URL to collect a set dollar amount using your Clover account.  You can embed each link on your website or you can emailed the link to the customer for the payment:

  1. Log into clover.com
  2. On the left of the dashboard, click on Payment Link
  3. On the Payment Link website, type in the amount (dollars and cents) in the “Enter Amount” field and an optional “Link Label” field
  4. Click on the “Create” button.
  5. You should now see a URL, starting with https://paybutton.zoomifi.com/newpayment, which you can use to collect payment from your customers.
  6. In the Payment Link website, you can see all of the payment links that you’ve created.  You can delete or edit these links at any time
  7. The links that are generated can only bee seen in the Payment Link website by the employee who created these links.

FAQ:

Issue: What updates have you made to this software?
Solution: We have now created a way to generate a “blank” link.  This means that the link does not have a set dollar amount.  Simply leave the amount field blank and click on “Generate Link” button.  We have also created a new tab on the Payment Link dashboard for payments that have been made using these links.

Issue: Will Payment Link allow me to take payments on my website?
Solution: The short answer is “Yes”.  The long answer is that this is not a solution for a full, retail style website.  Each payment link is set to a specific dollar amount and can only be used for that amount.  If you are trying to collect donations for a specific amount, then this is the software for you.  If you’re trying to take payments on your website for multiple products or services, then this will not be the right fit.

Issue: How do I add a Payment Link to my website?
Solution: You would need to embed the link to a button that you create on your website.  This is knows as a “Hyperlink”.  If you’re not sure how to do this, Google is the best way to find out.  You can use google to search for: “How do I hyperlink an item on my website”.

Issue: Will the payments from these links process through my Clover account.
Solution: Yes.

Issue: What information will I see on the payments from the link that I’ve created?  Will I see the customer information, employee who created the link, etc?
Solution: As of right now, no additional information will show up in your Clover reporting.  Just the transaction with the date, amount and other basic Credit Card processing data.
